Strategy: I chose the word strategy because all three of the the main Persian battles, the Greeks used some kind of strategy or had a plan to defeat the Persians. In the battle of Marathon, the Athenians put their weaker soldiers in the center and their stronger soldiers on the outside so the stronger soldiers were basically surrounding them. When the Persians arrived at the battle, they charged at the weak soldiers in the middle. Then the stronger soldiers surrounded the Persians and defeated them. In the Battle of Thermopylae, the Spartans built a wall to keep the Persians out, and the wall worked for awhile. They could have defeated the Persians if that one messenger didn't reveal a way around the mountain so they could attack the Spartans. Also, in the Battle of Salamis, the Athenians forced the Persians into a small area and then quickly defeated them. All the methods that the Greeks used all had great strategy.
