Ancient GReece geography
The landscape of Ancient Greece was very rocky with a lot of mountains, and is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. Ancient Greece had climate that depended on seasons like most areas. Springs were warm and rainy and summers were hot and dry. In the fall it would start to rain again and there would be frequent storms. Greek winters were cool and rainy, but never really cold. The ancient Greeks grew barley and wheat as their most important crops, along with beans, vegetables, olives, and grapes that they used to turn into wine.
The landscape of Ancient Greece had a big impact on these city-states. Due to the mountains, none of the city states new that there were many other civilizations around greece at the time. This isolated them from travel and trade with some city-states. Some city-states did trade with each other because they were across the sea from each other. Water travel made trade in ancient greece a lot easier.
