Mercury IV
The Mediterranean Sea provided a good source of transportation for ancient Rome for trade. The Tiber River was a good water source in ancient Rome, and the mountains in ancient Rome kept Rome isolated so invasion was difficult. Although the Tiber River was a good water source, it overflowed often and flooded the low lying areas of Rome. The Mediterranean Sea was used by other civilizations so Rome could possibly be invaded. The mountains isolating Rome kept out invaders, but the isolation made Rome develop differently.
